“What exists most in the world are people who will never meet. They were born in distant places, and chance will not make their paths cross. A waste. Many of those encounters destined not to happen could have been overwhelming. Through affinity, through an attraction that can’t be explained, through the force of circumstances, through hidden chemistries — who can know? How much love is lost in that lack of synchrony. There’s no need to go far: someone can pass on the left while we are distracted looking to the right. By the narrowest margin, parallel paths force us into an eternal missed encounter. Some coincidence is needed for love to settle in. There is a certain miracle in encounters. It is not foolish to say that love is sacred.”

We borrowed the words of Carla Madeira to speak about a meeting that needed to happen. Dhuli, from Espírito Santo, and Antonio, from Galicia. Who would have imagined that the paths of Spain and Brazil would cross on the slightly rainy streets of Birmingham and, magically, shine? Two different worlds meeting in a world even more different.

So then… we’re getting married! There have been eight years of quality moments, filled with laughter, intense debates, lively dancing, and more wine and food than we probably should admit. At some point, while chasing the sunset in Santorini, we got engaged. And now, here we are: planning a wedding and inviting you — our favorite humans — to begin this next chapter with us.

The celebration will take place in the region of Spain where Antonio grew up: Galicia. A beautiful corner of the country where the wine is far too good to drink in moderation, seafood deserves a standing ovation, and the sun (supposedly) shines — although the Galician sky likes to keep us guessing.

We know it’s quite a journey for some of you, but if you can make it, we promise: sun* (*hopefully), some questionable dance moves, hugs, unforgettable Galician flavors, and probably a few tears of emotion.

Having all of you there — together, in the same place, for just one night in a lifetime — would make our hearts samba. An unforgettable celebration and countless memories to toast to forever.
